AppScreens ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. All image and video processing runs entirely in your browser — we never see or store your screenshots.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 When you use the tool without an account

• No personal data is collected. Your images stay on your device.
• Local storage is used to save your quota counter and Boost Pack credits locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device.
• Standard server access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) are kept for up to 7 days for security purposes.

2.2 When you create an account

• Email address and display name — to identify your account.
• Hashed password — stored securely using bcrypt; we never store plaintext passwords.
• Project data — text titles and settings you save to your projects (no image pixel data is uploaded).

2.3 When you purchase a Boost Pack

• Payment is processed entirely by FastSpring. We do not receive or store your card details.
• FastSpring may share your email and order ID with us for support purposes. FastSpring's privacy policy: fastspring.com/privacy.
• Boost Pack credits are stored in your browser's localStorage and are not linked to a server account.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

We use localStorage (not cookies) for:

• Authentication token (JWT) — kept until you sign out.
• UI language preference.
• Monthly export quota counter.
• Boost Pack credits.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate you and sync your projects across devices.
• To provide support when you contact us.
• To improve the Service based on aggregate, anonymous usage patterns.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@appscreens.net. We will delete your data within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@appscreens.net.

7. Security

We use HTTPS (TLS) for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, though no system is 100% secure.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
